CardEasy keypad payment by phone lets your customers enter their payment card numbers using the touch-tone keypad of their own phone in the middle of the live conversation with your contact center agent so the card numbers no longer enter your contact center environment and your agents, outsourcers and remote staff can handle card payments securely whilst descoping your contact center environment from PCI DSS controls. Call recordings can be full-length for customer service, quality control and regulatory purposes as the card numbers can no longer be seen, heard or stored. Here’s how it works. In the middle of the conversation with your customer, the agent initiates the request for card capture through their web browser CRM or payment application, prompting the caller to enter their card numbers on their telephone keypad. The resulting DTMF touch tones are masked from the agent and call recordings so they cannot be heard and the card numbers are not displayed in full. After the short security number has been captured in the same way, the transaction is submitted by the agents passing through the CardEasy core to your payment services provider or gateway for processing. The authorization result is returned in real time for logging and display to the agent. If the customer has any problems the agent remains on the call for help throughout and can ask the customer to rekey their card numbers if necessary, so as not to lose the customer or the transaction. CardEasy improves customer trust and also provides additional card checks in conjunction with your payment services provider So there’s less likelihood of rejected payments. Because the agent no longer takes down the customer’s card number there is less risk of mistakes and average call handling time is reduced while the requirement for PCI DSS monitoring and audit is almost completely eliminated by no longer having card numbers to protect.
