  1. Yes. Once the remote is programmed using these simple instructions, all the remote buttons should be working.

  2. No, these instructions only program the remote. The transponder chip (or immobilizer) must be programmed by a dealer or a locksmith.

  3. I followed the instructions and on the 4th time I heard it click, as if it had programmed. Then however it wouldn't lock the doors. I am not sure what to try now?

  4. If you are not having any issues with the door locks themselves, there might be an issue with the remote. You can also try rebooting the car by disconnecting the car's battery for about 15 mins, reconnect and try the programming again. Sometimes this will solve a minor glitch in the system.

  5. Hi,
Thanks for the great information. I have a 2008 Honda Accord EX-L. If I was to perform the steps by you. This will let me unlock, lock and open the trunk of my vehicle? Will it also allow me to start the car?

  6. If the car was originally equipped with remote start and your previous remote looked like the new one, then all functions will work the same with the new remote. If it is different from your previous remote, it may not work that way.

  7. Tried this with my son's 07 civic sedan. (CDN). Sat in car, all doors shut (unlocked). Put working key in ignition, turned to ON position, pressed lock for 1 sec on key in ignition. No indication of anything happening, turned to off. Repeated 2 more times. Never heard the clicking sound indicating that it was doing the programming. Batteries are all good in the remotes.

Any idea what might be going on?

  8. People what helped me in these KEY FOB NOT WORKING was disconnecting + connector from car`s battery and after that voila central locking works. It resets radio and you will need a code which you can find in your honda manual.

  9. I already have key but my remote in lost  and i want to instill new remote, So do I have to buy new key also . or that old key can work with new remote???///???                       My car is Honda Odyssey 2002…

  10. I watched this video and read a few other tips on how to program the remote  everything said go to 2 then back to 0.  the only way it worked for me was by putting key in ignition.  Turn it to 2. press either lock or unlock ONCE (pressing multiple times didn't help). turn key to position 1.  turn back to 2 and repeat.  Do it three times.  Then you'll hear the locks responding.  at that point you are done

  13. SOMEONE! ANYONE! PLEASE ANSWER!

I hope this isnt a silly question but is this an alternative for purchasing an keyless entry installation which requires proper wiring or is that still mandatory for this particular programming to work?

  14. 1. Turn ignition switch to ON (II)

Make sure remote is aimed at the reciever near the glove box.

    4. Repeat steps 1, 2 and 3 two more times using the same keyless remote used
    in step 2

    5. Within 4 seconds turn the ignition switch to ON (II)

    6. Within 4 seconds press the LOCK or UNLOCK button the same remote. Make
sure the power doorlocks cycle to confirm you are in programming mode.
Presss the LOCK or UNLOCK buton again.

    7. Press the LOCK or UNLOCK button on each remote you want to program. Make
sure door locks cycle after you push each remote button to confirm system has

  23. I bought a used 2000 Honda Civic LX… It came with a Karr security system and we had to get a new keyless entry remote but we cant find out how to program it… Will this method work for that? I've tried calling Karr but they did not give me any idea how to do it. They just told us to bring it to best buy for them to do it… And I really dont want to have to pay someone to do if I can do it myself?
