Nest Secure [ review and unboxing ] 2019

– In today’s video, we’re
gonna check out Nest Secure. One of the best way to secure a house, and make sure no intruders
comes to your house, without your knowledge. If you have a home, if
you have an apartment, if you have an office, or
if you just want security for your car, not for your car, but, for all the above, Nest Secure has you cover, and we’re gonna take a
look at it right now. ♪ Got me drugged ♪ ♪ Your pheromones hit the roof ♪ ♪ Bottle your taste ♪ Let me go back a little bit. Originally, this video
was shot two days ago, and I had a problem with my Nest Secure, and the problem was that it was just not connecting to the app. All that aside, the footage that I shot, was completely deleted, and
I had to re-shoot it again. So, it’s just amazing how things work out. So, this is take three,
because originally I took one. Take one was when I first
got it, and I unboxed it, take two was when I got
the replacement part, and take three is when
I realized right now that I had everything deleted. I put it together in the best
way that it was possible. This is Nest Secure. It comes up in this really,
really nice package. It’s not upside-down, I put
it together incorrectly, but the right way is that these both should face the same way. You know what, I couldn’t
take it, so I fixed it. This is the packaging. Good thing that I like about this is the modularity aspect of it. Basically, you could expand it. You could just do as you
wish with this product. This is nice, this is
something that I like. I like something that I can keep with me and take to the next level. I don’t like something that
I’m stuck with what I got. Other thing that I like
about this product, is the fact that you don’t
have to pay for subscription. Although Nest has
assistant that you could, I believe partner with T-Mobile. I believe 30 bucks a month, and they give you 24/7 monitoring system. So, it has this own servicing side of it, But I don’t need that, the Nest app is just fine for me, and I’m happy with it. Another key feature about
this little product, is what happens if power goes out. Now in that scenario, don’t
worry, you’re covered. This little gadget has 12
hours of on-board battery. So if you lose power, it
is not gonna just shut off. So if somebody cuts the
power to your house, this is not gonna shut off,
this is gonna be working, and it’s still gonna be communicating with those motion sensors,
so you are covered. This is a good thing about it. This thing is super, super loud, that you’re gonna see me kind of testing the sound on this thing, and then this bad boy can produce some extreme sound out of it. So, it comes in this little
package, like I mentioned, and let’s open it and
see what we have inside. Now soon as you open it, again this is already installed, and it has a little
battery juice inside of it, but this is you are greeted with, without these little buttons, again this already installed
and because I plugged it in, it kind of charged itself. So it has a little bit of battery. And then you have the dialing
pad, right in the front. This is, as you can see, very clicky. And then you have (device tone) one… – [Nest Guard] Nest Guard was unplugged. – plug, you have the Nest
Guard right here, (device tone) you have couple of buttons on top, – [Nest Guard] Nest Guard was unplugged. – And then you have the
message button on the bottom. – [Nest Guard] Nest Guard was unplugged. – Right here on the back,
we have the panic button, so in case you’re panicking, you could simply, press this button, and it would notify everybody
in your contact list, and it would start the alarm itself and right in the front, we have the little Nest
logo imprinted beautifully. It’s a really clean product. I like the simplicity of
it, and how clean it is. Next, we are gonna open this
up, and we are greeted with the unique, round, power adapter. This is a really nice power adapter, because it looks very
unique, it looks very clean, it looks very chic, and it’s minimalistic. So you could tuck it away
without being in the way. The problem that I was facing
with some of my product is that it would get
unplugged accidentally, but with the USB adapter at the plug here for your Nest Protect, you are covered, and basically, they provide this little capping for you, that you can simply insert
your plug inside of it, and screw this to the
wall, on your outlet. Now, with this inside, there is no way you can take the plug out, and I’m forcingly pushing it down. And because it is blocked,
and it is keeping it safe, and then once you screw it
on, it will not move at all. A little user manual that comes inside every Nest product, again,
this is a nice user manual. I suggest that keeping the
literature for this one, and going over it, so that you know what
you are dealing with. Although it’s an easy product, it’s something that is important, and I think you should take measurements when you first install it, to give it at least five to 10 minutes to go over what it does, what it has, and how to
operate its features. We have a little package on the bottom. Now this is where the magic happened, and one thing that I like,
and I mention before, this is all upgradable, so
you could upgrade all of it, you could add more, you could
use less, and this is it. We have our motion sensors. These are not only motion
sensors, these are, they work in two, actually, they have three functions. First of all, you could connect them to a door, and they come up in this beautiful look. Lemme show you guys. They are very clean, and they
are very modern and elegant, as you can see. They look beautiful. Now, way you could use it, you
could connect it to a door, to a window, it would detect
that, the door has moved, and it would trigger the alarm, or you could not use this part, and simply connect this
to a wall somewhere, and then you use it as a motion detection. One thing that I like about this, and I mentioned it later on the video, when I’m actually installing
the actual program, is that in case you have a
small pet under 40 pound, this has an option that you could select, and when it finds out,
when it sees your pet, it would just basically
not trigger the alarm. That’s really nice,
because I have a small dog, so this is something that I like. And on top of that, it has a light, just like any other Nest product, like the Nest Protect, which is the carbon monoxide detector. As soon as you walk past
it, if the alarm is not set, it would just light up
the pathway for you. One other item that we have
that I’m really fond of, is this key chain. Now, of course you have the
option of entering the passcode, as you enter the house, or you have the option
of entering the passcode using your mobile phone. But if your mobile is out, and you don’t really want
to put the password in, you could simply tap your
Nest key on top of it, and it would just lock the
door, or it will unlock it. Finally. – [Nest Guard] Try out
Nest Guard’s motion sensor. – Finally, it worked, and it comes up to this page which says, “Reduce Sensitivity”. You do want to reduce sensitivity because, we have a little puppy. So, for a puppy, we are
gonna reduce sensitivity. We have our little units right here. So, we gonna make this hallway, or entry. Now, the whole dial is changed, and then we have like a keypad now. Like it was white, but
now, we have a keypad. It was a little bit problematic to install it in the beginning, but that was a faulty unit. It happens, it’s
unfortunate that it happens for this video but it
was very frustrating, but right now, I’m good. So, we have these two. This is the motion sensor. (Sensor beeps) – [Nest Secure] There was
motion in the entryway. – It detected motion, because they moved. – [Nest Secure] Please
enter your passcode. – So, it says alarm
will sound in 30 second if you do not disarm it. I did not disarm it. So, pretty soon, it’s gonna ring. You see that orange line? That indicates the time
that you have left. – [Nest Secure] The alarm
will sound In 10 Seconds. (Alarm rings) – It is so loud, it is 10 decibels, I did not think it will be this loud. And look at the notifications that I got. So right away, it sent me notifications, both to my email, and to the Nest app. I turned it off right now. Oh my God this thing was loud. This thing was horribly loud. But one thing that I liked, sometimes I forget to put the passcode, so when you come in it lets you know that, Hey, you got one minute, 30 second, 10 second. So, if you don’t put it in, if you don’t come up in your
senses putting the password, it will sound. I think it’s a great product. I thank Nest for creating
something like this, that is so useful, and it is so chic and classy. I love it. And by the way, there is
a button on the back here, that if, for some reason, you just want to make the alarm sound, or let someone know
that there is a problem, you can just press it, and… (alarm rings) I’m afraid that it’s gonna
damage my microphone. This is how loud it is, and again, I’m getting notification, both to my alarm, to my
watch, and in my phone, and the interesting part is that, it sended me a Panic Attack. “Panic Attack button was
pressed on Nest Guard”. So, this is nice, if you know intruder is in your house, and you want everybody know,
press the Panic Attack, and that’s it! You just wanna roll in class, this is, this is the next step. This is something really cool. Love it, and that’s it. (upbeat music)
