Top 4 Best Home Security Systems – 2019 Review | ASecureLife

(upbeat music) [Presenter] Your home is unique to you. Here at ASecureLife we
believe the way you keep your home safe and secure should be too. We’ve researched and tested home security systems from across the industry to give your our top
picks for affordability, smartphone integration, do it yourself-ability, and more. If you’re in the market to make your home safer and smarter, stick around. We’re going to talk about why Vivint, Frontpoint,
ADT, and SimpliSafe are our top pics in the
home security industry. If you have more questions
about the brands in this review, or other options for home security, subscribe to our YouTube channel. We’ve got tips on everything
you need to live a secure life. If you’re looking for industry
leading home security tech, Vivint smart home is our pick for best equipment and home automation. Vivint’s equipment is sleek, modern and boasts a high end aesthetic. But doesn’t stop at home security. You can add thermostats, door locks, garage door controllers, and lots of other gadgets to work seamlessly with your security system. Vivint does require scheduling
professional installation. This might seem like an inconvenience, but professional installation means a security expert looks at your home and gives advice on device placement and the best home automation for your unique needs. It’s spendy though. Depending on your equipment package, installation may cost up to $250 before your regular service costs. Pricing for their monitoring services ranges from around $30 to $50 a month. But you get a lot of bang for your buck. We like that you can
control your security system and smart home from your
phone at every price point. A lot of other companies
make you pay more to do that. Vivint also offers a flexible
pricing plan called Flex Pay. This option allows you
to spread the equipment costs out over a 42 to 60 month contract. If you can afford to pay
for equipment up front, Vivint will let you go with
a month-to-month contract. Equipment isn’t cheap though. The control panel alone costs around $500. With their strict cancellation
policy and lengthy contracts, we don’t recommend the service
for budget concerned users. But smart home aficionados
will love the comprehensive smart home experience
and high end equipment. If you’re more of a do it yourself-er, Frontpoint is our pick
for easy DIY installation. Frontpoint’s equipment comes ready to set up right out of the box. You don’t need to be an expert to install Frontpoint’s equipment. But if you get stuck, there’s lots of instructions
on the packaging. And their first rate customer service team is only a phone call away. Frontpoint’s security equipment can integrate with other
smartphone devices, streamlining your control
over your smart home tech. And rather than picking
your system out for you, Frontpoint lets you choose
from their equipment packages to find the one that best
suits your home and needs. Upfront equipment costs around $100 and monthly plans range from $35 for a basic monitoring package, to $50 for extras like
mobile and video monitoring. Frontpoint’s contract start at 36 months with hefty fees if you cancel early. But if you need to move
your equipment in that time, Frontpoint lets you take your equipment with you without starting
the contract over. We recommend Frontpoint
if you’re a DIY-er looking for thoughtful customer service and a simple installation experience. But the lack of mobile
access with their basic plan is a definitive downside and you’ll be signing
up for a longer contract than you would with other brands. Our next security system recommendation largely speaks for itself. ADT has been a longtime player
in the security system world. We’ve awarded ADT best in reputation and security experience. Their customer service is
reliable and responsive. Depending on your location, professional installers can
have your system installed and functional within 48 hours. ADT’s installation experts will help you locate
vulnerabilities in your home and work to help you
build the best security system for protection and prevention. ADT includes the essential equipment in its initial installation fee. For around $100, ADT will professionally install your first key pad, backup battery, siren, motion
detector, and door sensor. Any additional equipment and smart home compatibilities will cost you extra. Monthly monitoring with
ADT ranges from $30 to $70. Depending on whether you want things like mobile app access
and video monitoring. At every price point, the monthly cost includes access to ADT’s 24 seven customer service. Ideal if you need help with your system or have questions about
your contract after hours. ADT’s service requires a 36 month contract but they have a more
lenient cancellation policy than some of their competitors. While we wouldn’t recommend
ADT for smart home tech lovers, ADT’s reliability and experience stand out in the security industry. If you’re looking to avoid
a contract like ADT’s but still want a system that’s
DIY friendly like Frontpoint, we recommend SimpliSafe. Installing SimpliSafe is, well, simple. Before your security system arrives, you have the option to select exactly the equipment you want for your home. Once your equipment arrives, you can quickly install
it with little more than the included adhesive
strips and a screw driver. You don’t have to be an installation expert to get SimpliSafe running. But their customer service
is available daily to answer any questions you may
have during the process. SimpliSafe doesn’t charge
much for monitoring. And you can leave the
service at almost any time. With monthly rates
ranging from $15 to $25, even the most expensive
package costs less than others. Our biggest complaint,
SimpliSafe might not play well with the rest of
your smart home tech. Currently, their system is only compatible with Amazon’s Alexa. But if you’re looking for simple to use and affordable prices, SimpliSafe is a solid option. So whether you’re looking for the best in security and smart home tech or you want to set up
your system on your own, we’re confident Vivint, Frontpoint, ADT, or SimpliSafe will work for you. We’ve got hours of
research and interaction with the brands to back it up. Want to learn more about
